It is a Moby Wrap.

I've had a few questions about the baby carrier I was wearing in a previous post. It is a Moby Wrap. I really like it because you can use it from preemie to 35 lbs. I used it when Sofia was only a week or so old and I still use it. There are bunches of ways to wear the baby. And both Marc and I can wear her no problem, it fits around people of all shapes and sizes. The only draw back is that it is a very large piece of fabric, so it's a bit cumbersome to get it around you. But once it's on, it's comfy. Takes a little practice getting it on and the baby situated just right.

We got Elfed!

Check it out!

New pictures

So I've got some new pictures to post. Andrea posted the first picture of my new hair cut, but I've got one, too. And then some more of the babe.

I still don't have a decent picture of my hair, sorry. I'll try and get one tomorrow night at Marc's Christmas party. We both should be looking pretty snazzy. What did we do this week...we went to Weight Watchers and lost 0.8 lbs. We meet Andrea for coffee while she was in town for work. I went to the gym twice, so far, and I ran 12 minutes! And of course, we did a little shopping. Oh, and Miss Sofie had a day of terror that she just wouldn't sleep or be happy. First one of those. I think she was going through a growth spurt because she ate all day long, too.

Here are a couple new pictures.

The day Sofie was a total terror.

Cookie Party

Tonight was the annual cookie swap that Marc and I go to at our friend Hilary's house. We had a great time and got to catch up with friends we don't see as much since we moved to the sticks of Reston. Miss Sofie was the hit of the party and people were fighting to hold her (and I even got someone else to change her diaper). She did great! She didn't fuss until it was time to leave, but it was close to bed time and almost time to eat again. And I must say, I'm proud of myself too. While I'm sure I ate more points than I had left for the day (shouldn't be a problem since I still had a bunch of my 35 weekly points left), I only tasted the cookies that looked really good and I stopped at one of each kind. I brought chili as my "snack to share," so I started with a bowl of that (made with 94% fat free ground beef) and really stayed away from all the other appetizers. And I only had one drink. And, I never once felt stuffed or wished I hadn't eaten as much as I did.

I also got a hair cut today. I'll try and get a picture soon. I'm not sure if it's what I asked for or not. She styled it a bit different than it was in the picture I took with me, so I'll have to see if I can style it like the picture. She said it was a good , versatile style...could be styled a few ways. So I'm hoping she just styled it a different way. And I felt like a scrooge. I tried to put a tip on my credit card because I had no cash, but they wouldn't let me. They said I could go next door to the movie theater and use the atm. But since I'm not sure the cut is what I asked for, I don't feel too bad....I just wish it wasn't the holiday season. And this was a new girl. Apparently, Camilla, the lady I absolutely loved, doesn't work there anymore and isn't working anywhere for awhile....taking some time off because she's sick. At least that is the story I got...I don't know if they were trying to keep me from going elsewhere or not. Camilla would have gotten it perfect and taught me how to do it at home and everything. I could have gone in and given Camilla free reign to do whatever she thought would look good and wouldn't have been nervous at all. I'm going to miss Camilla. Why is it so hard to find a hairstylist?

Wish me skinny thoughts for my weigh in tomorrow! (I haven't gotten on a scale all week, I really don't know how I did, even though I feel good.)

Santa

Sofia went and talked to Santa today. She told him that she wants an exersaucer. And she even did her Elvis impression when the picture was snapped.

Proud of myself

I forgot to post this the other day, but I'm proud of myself, so I'm going to post late. For those of you who don't already know, I went back to Weight Watchers this past Monday to lose the rest of this baby weight. Well, Tuesday night, the chicken I got out for dinner hadn't thawed yet and I really wanted breakfast. We bundled the baby up and planned to head to IHOP. Then I thought, why don't we go to the grocery store and buy egg beaters, turkey sausage, and some kind of light bread (in this case low fat, whole wheat eggos). We can save money and we'll still probably be eating at about the same time since the grocery is much closer than IHOP. So, we saved money and calories. Small victory!

New Pictures

I finally took some new pictures of the baby. I was trying to get a picture for a Christmas card? Are any of these card-worthy?

And these are just some that were on the camera that I hadn't gotten off yet.

And these are Sofia's new wall lights.

2 month check up

So, it's official. We have a big baby. And by big baby, I mean BIG, not fat.

Height: 24 in (95th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs 8 oz (85th percentile)
Head: 40 cm (75th percentile)

According to her length, she is on par to be 5'8", but she'll probably be more like 5'6" because of her head size. The doc said that was more of a determining factor. We have a bit of gunky eye caused by a blocked tear duct, but it should go away before she turns one. And she has a bit of reflux, so she is to be elevated 24/7. So I need to get a sleep wedge for the crib. The doc said this is probably why she spits up so much and keeping her elevate will help that. She is also eating a bit more than he would like, but because she is spitting up so much, he said she's not really eating all that she intakes. And she is a big girl and needs a little more to eat than a baby in the 50th percentile. The doc said not to give her more than 32 oz (in a 24 hour period....right now we are at about 26-28). He said to really try and hold her to 32 oz and we can start giving her rice cereal at 4 months if that isn't satisfying her anymore.

Other than that we have a happy, healthy baby.

Gobble Gobble...even if it's late

Happy late Thanksgiving. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and ate too much food. We had a very good Thanksgiving in Illinois. Marc's mom made a fabulous turkey and a cheesecake, too!

We took Sofia on her first plane ride. She did fabulous on the way out. The flight was only about half full so they let us put her car-seat in the seat next us. She was awake for take off, but shortly fell asleep. Didn't cry or get upset once. The plane ride back was a little different. She didn't really cry, but she was fussy. I think she had just had a big weekend. But she did sleep from about 10:30/11 until 6/6:30 every night!

Hayleigh and Alicyn got to meet their baby sister and were so excited (as were Grandma and Grandpa)! We had family photos taken of the 5 of us and I will share when we get them. Marc's cousin, Angie, came by with her twins, Juileze and Jonathan. They are 9 months old. We also visited with my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Steve.

Miss Sofia got introduced to lots of her family....and of course Mommy forgot the camera, so we don't have a single picture (except the family photos we had done professionally).

I'm a cutie

I'm such a cutie in the new hat Mommy bought me. Now I can keep warm on our walks while Mommy tries to lose weight.

I also think I'm quite cute in my new coat that my Great Aunt Barbie got me. Look, it even matches the toy that Mimi bought before I was even born.

Sunday, November 11, 2007

It's been awhile. What's been going on here? We had our first road trip with the baby. We went to SC for a baby shower, which was great. We got to see lots of people and introduce Sofia to everyone. The car trip down was a little long for the baby. She wanted to scream the last 2 hours of the trip (and of course we get stuck in traffic). I got in the back seat with her and held a pacifier in her mouth and that seemed to help settle her down. The car trip back didn't seem as bad for her. It did take us an extra hour both ways with all the stopping for her to eat and change diapers.

I also gave my 2 weeks notice at work, cleaned out my desk, and had my exit interviews. I am no longer an employee of the government. When we were home for the shower, Dad ordered my computer, so things are moving on that front.

The past couple of nights we have gotten the lil one to bed before 11pm! I'm excited, we are starting to get into a routine. The only problem is she doesn't take a really good afternoon nap unless we are out shopping, which is going to make working a bit of a problem. Maybe, I'll just let her nap in her car seat. =)

Yesterday, we went and returned a few things we either have too much of or something else very similar. Just a note, avoid the mall until New Year's. It was horrible!! I think I'll do all my shopping during the week when most people are at work. Although, today we are going to Dick's to get me a new pair of sneakers so I can start walking. All my shoes are too short. I could understand them being to narrow. But how do your feet actually grow in length while your pregnant? Aren't the bones pretty much done growing a long time ago?

Happy 4 week Birthday

If you go by weeks, Sofia's 4 week birthday was yesterday. If you go by date, she'll be a month old tomorrow. Either way, Happy Birthday. =)

Things are going well. We went to a football watching party at one of our neighbors over the weekend. We had a good time and got to me some new people as well as get some ideas for things to do with the house (since their place is almost the same floor plan). They had hardwoods which looked really nice. We went out to dinner Friday night and made it to the grocery yesterday. Today we've got to go back to Mommy's doctor, tomorrow we are going to the dentist, and we might stop by work later this week or early next week.

Now, if we could just get Miss Sofie to sleep in her crib we'd be doing great! She'll sleep in your arms, she'll sleep in her car seat, she'll sleep in her papasan chair, she'll sleep on a blanket beside you, she just won't sleep in her crib. You can put her in there if she is asleep, but once she wakes up, she wants out.

Jack thinks we put the blanket down for him.

P.S.

There is no snooze on a baby.

Monday, October 15, 2007

Things are going good here. We got out of the house the past 3 days! Saturday we went to Sam's Club and out to lunch. Sunday we went to the grocery store. And today we went for Mommy's doctor appointment (that wasn't fun!). It looks like we will be out to dinner tomorrow night as our friend Katie will be in town from Colorado.

And we are getting better about sleeping at night, not perfect, but better. She will be up for about an hour with each night time feeding and then sleep for about 2, which is much better than being up from 2am until 6am. The better she is about sleeping through the night, the more we'll be getting out of the house. I'm in search of some cheap, in-between clothes. My maternity clothes are falling off of me, but I'm far from fitting into my pre-pregnancy stuff.

We decided to go with formula (which I think is helping her to sleep longer). She is a much more pleasant baby, and I'm a much more pleasant mommy (plus Daddy can participate). We did breast feed for just over 2 weeks, and she did a number on me! We stopped breastfeeding last Tuesday, and I'm just now healing. My lactation consultant called to see how things were going, and I told her we decided to go with formula. She was funny, she said "Don't tell anyone a lactation consultant told you this, but I really think that was the best decision for you."

Daddy and baby are sleeping, so I suppose I should be sleeping too.

It's been awhile

I know, it's been awhile, but we are still adjusting. And right now, when I've got time, I'm usually sleeping. We had our 2 weeks check up today. Everything is normal and on track. Sofia is in the 90th percentile for her height, but she's in the 50th percentile for everything else. It was a bit of a long day because our appointment was early this morning and we didn't get our morning nap. Actually, I haven't gotten any naps today, but it did feel nice to get out. There isn't a whole lot to update on since we don't get out too much yet, but hopefully, that'll change soon!

The baby is sleeping. I'll try and get all this in before she decides its time to eat again.

I went into labor Saturday night/Sunday morning. We went to the hospital late Saturday night but got sent home because I wasn't dialating any further. The doctor sent me with a sleeping pill so that I could get some rest because he said I was definitely on my way and I needed my rest. The second we got home though, I was in true labor. I couldn't sleep, even with the drugs. We got back to the hospital at 4:30am Sunday morning. They were so busy, we sat in triage for 3 hours before a nurse came and checked on me, put a fetal monitor on, checked my blood pressure, anything. The resident doctor finally came and checked me at 8:30, I was 5 centimeters dialated, so they decided to admit me. Needless to say, I'd been having contractions 2-3 minutes apart most of the night and the entire time we were in the hospital. Because they admited me so late, I had to wait for my blood work to be run before I could have an epidural. Once I got drugs, life was good! Marc and I both got to sleep some during the day. And then she came at 7:25pm. I started pushing around 5, but my doctor had 2 or 3 back to back c-sections, so we had to wait. But I think if she had been available, Sofia would have been here sooner.

The hospital was so busy, there were no post-partum rooms available. We stayed in Labor and Delivery longer than normal and then when they really needed the room they sent us back to triage for a day, and then finally got moved to post partum for a day. Just to give you an idea, 20 babies were born in a 24 hour period, Saturday night to Sunday night. And Labor and Delivery only has 12 rooms. My induction that was scheduled for Monday would have been pushed back again. We still wouldn't have this baby. Its a good thing she decided to come on her own!

Oh, and there are new photos on the picassa website.

Sofia Claire

Introducing Sofia Claire.
She was born Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 7:25pm. She weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces, was 21.25 inches long, and has a head of brown hair. There are a few lighter pieces on the ends, so it might end up a little lighter or even have a reddish hue. I have tons of pictures to upload off the camera but haven't just yet. This one will have to do for now.

Frustrated

We are still on hold. Apparently, every woman in Northern Virginia that is pregnant went into labor last night, except me. The Labor and Delivery rooms are all full and all the postpartum rooms are full. MY doctor has to go out of town tomorrow for a funeral, so she won't schedule me for tomorrow. We are currently scheduled for Monday at 1pm and are the 1st in line to get moved up to 7am if there is an opening. The only way we are having a baby before the weekend is if she decides she wants to come on her own. The main inconvenience is that my parents are in town just hanging out and Marc's was off work all day today. I was off work as well, but I really don't feel like being there this pregnant anyway. We are going to walk again all weekend and maybe even eat Mexican every night for dinner!

One last post before baby...

One last post before the baby is here. We got a call last night, at 9pm mind you, that our inducement had been moved up to 7am this morning and could we be there at midnight last night. Needless to say we weren't prepared to be there in 3 hours. So they said, no problem, just come in at 7am and don't eat anything after midnight. We just got another call at 5:45am telling us they need to push us back until 11am. I guess they had a bunch of people come in over night in labor and didn't have the space for us. Oh, and now I can have a light breakfast. =)

We'll be without computer technology until we get home, so don't expect pictures or updates anytime soon. For those of you who we have cell phone numbers for, we'll at a bare minimum send out a text message and a grainy cell phone image. =)

No baby yet

Since everyone keeps asking, I thought I'd keep ya'll informed. We still haven't had her yet, but we've been walking to hopefully help things along. We wandered the mall Friday night, I walked the dog yesterday morning, we walked the dog again this morning, wandered around the outlet mall, and then the grocery. Needless to say, I'm a little tired.

Baby's photo album

I just created a new photo album for the baby. Granted, there aren't any pictures of the baby yet. I put in a couple of the ultrasound pictures as placeholders. Our hospital doesn't allow computers, or anything you can plug in for that matter (yes, this includes hair dryers, I know I probably won't feel like drying my hair, but I would like the option), so I don't know how soon we will be able to upload pictures of the lil one once she comes. But this will be where you will want to look.

Baby Pictures

Inducement Scheduled

The doctor's appointment went well. I guess my cervix still isn't "favorable"....still about the same from the last appointment. But we do have a no later than date. Our inducement is scheduled for Sept 20th. So we either have 11 or 12 days left. =) Now the dog and I are off to take a walk, hoping to help my cervix along.

12 days left to go...

Tomorrow we will have 12 days left until our due date. We also have a doctors appointment in the morning, so I'll keep everyone posted. I'm hoping we schedule an inducement tomorrow. Then we will have a no later than date. =)

Here is a picture of me at 38 weeks, 1 day.

Thursday, August 30, 2007

We had our doctor's appointment on Monday. Things are still looking good and starting to move along. I'm not dialating yet, but I was softening. We also had Baby Care Basics that night. It seemed like a lot of repeation from the child birthing class. It definitely wasn't worth the money, but at the same time, we wouldn't have known that if we hadn't taken the class. Tuesday my coworkers threw me a baby shower. Miss Sofia made out like a bandit! She got lots of little outfits, sleepers, and onsies. She also got some bottles and liners, outlet covers, a rubber ducky, towels, a diaper genie, and an activity mat. And I think my favorite gift was a beautiful stained glass that a coworker made with a moon on it. And the green around the moon matches the walls.

The rest of the week has been pretty laid back. I've been trying to get to bed early because I'm worn out all the time. I am also in the process of making up some freezer friendly dishes so that we can don't really have to cook and we don't have to eat out for the first week or so that she is here. Tonight I made lasagna, but insted of one huge pan, I made 2 littler ones so we can have 2 dinners. Tomorrow I'm going to make chili to freeze and I'm making fiesta chowder over the weekend. And we are going to a pool party on Monday with some girls I used to workout with at Henderson Hall.

On a sad note, I just found out that one of my previous coworker's husband has passed away. So, Marc and I will be at a funneral over the weekend. If it weren't for Delores, Marc and I might not have meet. So we both feel very compelled to go and support her. Our long weekend won't be all fun and games.

Keep your fingers crossed, maybe this baby will come this weekend! Oh, and if you want to see a new belly shot, head over to Alli's blog. At the bottom of her entry dated Aug 27, 2007, titled Maryland!, there is a picture of Alli, SB, and me. That picture was take Saturday night, so I was 36 weeks 3 days.

Burp Cloths

I just wanted to post pictures of the burp cloths that I made. I knew that I would need some thick cloth diapers for messier burps, especially when she's sick. But they were very ugly and plain, so I got crafty. I bought purple and yellow fabric to edge them and then got some iron-on patches to make them pretty (let's hope the patches hold up).

It's hard to see in the last one on the left, but that's her initials, SCP. They looked really nice in the package (white on black background) and silly me, forgot that white on white doesn't show up that well. Oh well.

We had a very busy weekend, child birth class, dinner with Alli and her family, and the baby wearing expo. Everything went well and I will update more later, but it's getting late and I really just wanted to get these pictures up. Alli took a belly shot at dinner last night, so once she emails it to me, I'll be sure to post it for all to see. We go back to the doctor tomorrow and have baby care basics tomorrow night. I'll update soon.

36 weeks

There isn't a whole lot going on right now. Marc is in FL this week. Murphy's Law states that I should have this baby this week because he's not here, but I'm sure I'm not that lucky (but will keep you posted if something happens). This weekend we have our childbirthing class, 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. Saturday night we are meeting Alli, her mom, and Miss SB for dinner since they are in the DC area. Saturday there is also a Baby Wearing Expo that I'm thinking about going to. It would be nice to see all the various slings and carriers out there. And then on Monday we have a doctor's appointment and we are going to a Baby Care Basics class...teach us how to diaper, feed, and bathe our baby. This is more to ease our nerves than anything else. And on Tuesday, my job is throwing us a shower. I was told at work that I cannot have this baby until after the shower.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures, but as I said, Marc isn't here to take them and it's hard to do self portraits.

Tagged

The Rules: 1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts. 2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. 3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!) 4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. 5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. When I was I kid I wanted to be a palentologist (did I spell that right?). I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones. How I you get from dinosaur bones to dollars and cents is beyond me.

2. As much as I wanted to stop on the side of the road and die when I was running my first marathon, I'm jealous of all you people out there who are training for the fall marathon season. Today would have been the perfect day to go for a long run, but I'm sure this baby would have a different opinion of that.

3. We have a cat and a dog, therefore we have cat and dog hair in our house. I secretly think it's funny that Marc is so obsessed with not having cat and dog hair anywhere. He seems determined that our animals and the baby should not interact nor should there be any animal hair on any of her stuff (or her too, I'm sure). He's going to go nuts if he doesn't let that go, and soon. Not to mention, the more we separate the baby and the animals, the more the two will be curious about the other.

4. My cat is a purr-whore. She'll yell and scream and growl at you, but still be purring at the same time.

5. I'm ready to have this baby. I don't want to wait another 4 weeks. I might not be ready to be a mommy (who ever is?), but I'm tired of housing her.

6. I hate being cold, but think snow is fun.

7. I have an obsession with Mexican food. I think I might have been Mexican in a former life. Good thing I married a hispanic and my mother-in-law makes such good Mexican food.

8. My dog is extra-special needy. I wonder how he'll react to not being the baby anymore.

I don't know all that many people who have blogs. Anyone I would tag has already been tagged.

We got our carseat yesterday. How silly that Marc and I are arguing over who's car it will go in... I finally convinced him that it should go in my car. Sofia and I are going to be home for 3 months together while he goes to work and I don't want to drive his car, so it makes sense that it goes in mine. Right? We have our hospital tour tomorrow afternoon. That should be exciting (I hope). We have our next ob appointment on Tuesday, infant CPR on Wednesday, and the cat is going to get her shots on Thursday. Busy week ahead of us.

I ran across this cartoon at Babygaga.com and thought I'd share.

Hot

It's been soooo hot here! We reached a record today...yuck. Of course, we've had 2 code orange/red days in a row the week I have to ride the bus/metro. Granted it's nice not to have to pay the bus fare (although we still have to pay the metro fare), but riding a hot bus, waiting for the bus or metro, and ending up on the one car on the train that doesn't have AC is not really fun when you are 8 months pregnant.

Here is a much awaited belly shot. 34 weeks....only 6 to go.

Monday, August 6, 2007

Sorry, no picture this time

I know it's been awhile since I posted. I keep putting it off until I have a belly shot to post for everyone. Well, I don't have a belly shot but I figured I'd go ahead and post. It's been ungodly hot here and there is just more to come...it's supposed to be 98 or 99 tomorrow. Of course this is the week I have to ride the bus and the metro to get to a conference.

Beth and Jeff were here Friday night. It was a nice, but short visit. And Saturday night Marc and I saw the latest Bourne movie. It was a good movie, you just have to know going into it, that it is nothing like the book. If you accept that upfront, it's a good movie and you'll enjoy it. There isn't much else going on here. Baseball season is over for Marc and I'm trying to get a bit of scrapbooking in before Sofia gets here. I'm sure I won't have much time for the first few months.

I also want to say congrats to Becky and Dave for their new little bundle of joy....and I must admit that I'm super jealous that she delivered 2 weeks early. Hey, it gives me hope. She's the 3rd person I know of who has delivered early this summer.

We'll get a picture soon....

Finally a picture

Here are two pictures from when Katie was in town last week. These were taken at 31 weeks (and we are now 32 weeks). Just remember, Katie said that I don't look nearly as pregnant and big in person as I do in the pictures. I'm not too fond of these pics, but it's all I've got for now. Marc and I will take some more soon (and hopefully they'll be more flattering). I don't have much as I'm off to get a hair cut here in a minute. Any suggestions for how to wash a stinky dog with a belly that gets in your way? Kinda hard to bend over the bathtub....

The Rocker is Here

Our rocker was delivered yesterday. Marc put it together this evening, and now it's in the baby's room and all set up. All we need now is the baby. 9 more weeks. The cat automaticly assumed that the giant box was delivered for her. She has been laying on it all the time.....she will get off to eat though. Being on a diet and all, the second she hears the food bag open, she hops down. She'll be sad to know the box is going out to the curb tonight.

The new rocker.

The dog enjoying the baby's room.

The whole room (or as best as I can fit into one shot)....notice Dad sleeping on the bed, putting that rocker together must have been hard work!

One of our good friends who I met when I first moved to DC is in town this week for work. We are meeting her for dinner tomorrow night, so I'll be sure to get some belly shots while we are out with her. Only 9 weeks left to go....

New Closets

Over the weekend, Marc and I tore out the shelving in both the bedroom closets. Come to find out that parts of the closet were never painted and of course we left a few holes that needed to patched. So we spent the rest of the day Saturday patching and painting the closets. On Sunday, Marc and I started to install the new shelving, the pretty, clean ClosetMaid stuff. Well, Marc only got the top two shelves in Sofia's closet before it was time for his baseball game. Well, I wasn't going to wait around all day and maybe still have my closets not finished before the work week started. So, I finished up Sofia's closet and then did our closet.

Sofia's Closet

Our Closet

I'm a little achey today, I'm not sure how much of that is being pregnant, how much is the angles and what not of putting up the shelves, and how much is the combination of the two. Our rocker was shipped today and is expected to arrive on Friday, so that's next weekend's project, to put it together.

So, who's excited about the next Harry Potter movie?? It comes out Wednesday. Marc and I have to figure out when to fit that in this weekend or next. And then, the next book comes out on the 21st. We've preordered our copy, so we'll be waiting with all the other finatics Friday the 20th at Barnes and Noble.

4th of July

We went to the National's baseball game yesterday and after the game I was in line for the bathroom, like a good pregnant woman. And the lady behind me asked me how far along I was and I told her I had 11 weeks left. And, like all women should be to each other, she said "Wow, you're not that big." =) Made my day. Then we went to a friends house to cook out and watch the fireworks. All in all, we had a good day. It doesn't sound like we did a lot, but I was sure tired. We didn't get home until 10:30 or 11. Plus I didn't really sit in a confortable chair all day. I'm sure that doesn't help. I sure didn't want to get up and go to work this morning. I actually went in an hour later (and stayed an hour later) just to get a tad more sleep.

My father in law and brother in law left this morning. It's nice to have our house back to ourselves, as much as I love visitors and family. It'll be nice to do whatever we want or nothing at all this weekend. Although we do have plans to redo the bedroom closets with ClosetMaid wire shelving. We need to be able to get more stuff into each closet now that we have to share the one in the other room with the baby.

Marc and I decided to spoil ourselves today and I brought a Wii home from Target. =D They got a shipment in this morning and just happened to have a few left over when I was there to pick up some things. Off to test it out and then early to bed.

Sunset Parade

Marc's dad and brother are visiting us for a couple of days since Jerry (brother) has so much leave for the 4th. Tonight we went to the Marine Corps Sunset Parade at Iwo Jima. We were walking around, looking for a spot to put our chairs and this really nice Master Sergeant comes up to us and escorts us into the VIP area. We were pretty thrilled. We got cushy, front row seats with a view. For those who don't know, the Marine Corps does two parades a week during the summer....Tuesday nights at Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial and Friday nights at Eighth and I Marine Barracks. Tonight we got to see the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and the Silent Drill Team. Now, I'm way more interested in the Silent Drill seeing as how I did 10 years of marching and playing on my own. I have one complaint though.....the Drum and Bugle Corps played Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever.....without any piccolos! I'm sorry, maybe I'm biased because I am a piccolo player, but you just can't have that song with out piccolos.... All in all, a good night.

For Beth

Beth has been requesting a new belly shot, so I had Marc take one tonight. I really like this dress I'm wearing, so I thought it was a good time to take a photo. (I feel like I'm more belly in this dress, don't look so chunky.) This is me at almost 28 weeks (27 weeks, 5 days). 12 more weeks to go.

Things are quiet, but good here. Hayleigh went home on Saturday. Saturday night we found a new dinner that I think will soon become a favorite. Any of you from the Greenville area will appreciate this. It's a lot like Stax's Omega....it's Greek, has what looks like an amazing bakery, and it's open 24/7/365 (even Christmas and Thanksgiving). And their food is decent too.

Yesterday we did nothing! It was great! We were lazy and watched movies in the morning, took a quick trip to the grocery, and then watched more movies in the afternoon. Marc had a baseball game last night, but I didn't go. The game started at 8pm and was about 45 mins away. 8pm is awfully close to my bedtime on a work night.

Off to watch some Braves baseball and then early to bed.
