A whole new world

My little imp is feeling better. She discovered she can pull herself up on the toy basket. Which also means she can pull up on the TV, yank the Wii down, and start the DVD player. We need to re-decorate.

And my baseball flowers Marc got me for my birthday. Isn't that a cool vase?

More Pictures from the Past Week or So

Sofia met Miles, the Marine Corps Marathon Mascot.

Sofia discovered Daddy's laptop.
She can hold her bottle on her own, even though she doesn't usually. (But she'll go to town on a sippy cup.)
I bought these headband things to keep my hair out of my face when I run. Sofia wanted to try one on.We thought this was funny. Looked like she was trying to drive the stroller with a joystick. Guess you had to be there.

Half Marathon Weekend and other updates

This past weekend we went to Fredericksburg, VA for the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon. This was the inaugural run. Marc ran the half marathon and came in just under 2 hours. Sofia and I ran the "Semper Fred"2 mile fun run in 21 minutes (just 30 seconds shy of my pre-baby average pace per mile). I've posted some pictures below of the proofs they sent from the race.

Pre-race looking for our friend Michelle.

Sofia and I on the Semper Fred.

Marc on the race course.

And one of Michelle crossing the finish line.

If you click here you can see a video of the race start. Marc and Michelle show up at about 1 minute 20 seconds. Marc comes up on the right edge in a blue top and sunglasses. Michelle is to the left in a dark tank top. They are right behind a guy in a maroon top and white hat. (See the picture below.)

Sofia is sick again. She and I keep passing a cold back and forth. She apparently never healed from her previous ear infection (or it came back) and she's losing weight. She was down 2 weeks ago from her 6 month check-up weight and then she was down again today from her weight 2 weeks ago. (Awfully early to start yourself on diet, geez!) We got stronger antibiotics and instructions to feed her whatever she'll eat while she is sick just to get the calories in her. We also were instructed to buy "good bacteria" (like in yogurt) to put in her bottle to help with the side effects of the antibiotics. (Hard to gain weight when you get diarrhea.) We go back in 2 weeks to make sure the ear is better and she is maintaining or gaining weight.

Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day Weekend!

It's a Beautiful Day...

There's not a whole lot going on here. It is finally sunny! I think they said on the news that we had between 7-8 inches of rain over about a 5 day period. I'm so tired of rain! I guess I wouldn't do too well in Seattle. Sofia is finally getting over her cold and ear infection. I think having her nose wiped bothered her more than anything else. Marc is running a half marathon this coming weekend and Sofia and I will be participating in the 2 mile fun run. We had a low-key Mother's Day, which is how I like it. It's like Valentine's day, everyday should be Valentine's Day and Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Here a few pictures to keep you satisfied until something exciting happens to us.

My sleeping angel.

I didn't catch it quite right, but she was trying to give the ducky kisses. It was so cute.

This one just made me laugh, it was like she was stuck in prison.

Recent Pics

We went to a surprise birthday party last Saturday. Sofia was the life of the party. Here she is with Kim, the birthday girl's sister and our realtor. We went and watched Michelle run a half marathon. Congrats Michelle!
Sofia is trying to figure out how to work the phone. She wants to talk to Mimi.
