A way to lower points on Fluff
My mom and I were talking this week and I showed her the "Fluff" (Please see this post for the recipe) that I had made and told what all went into, etc. She suggested getting the powdered fiber that is tasteless, oderless, colorless and dissolving it in with the jello. Because you would be adding Fiber, the points would be lower! I think I'm going to try it next time I go to the grocery store. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner...it would probably lower the points on lots of stuff!

The Slowsky's Want You. The Slow Party is Underway
To lighten the mood on all the political stuff going on.
I'm back...
Whew! There's been a lot going on here lately, hence why I haven't posted in awhile. I realize that is a sin in blogging world, but I've got new pictures, so I hope that makes up for it. =)
I started working about a week and a half, two weeks ago. So that just makes everything a little tougher, especially since I'm working from home. Sofia and I are starting to get a routine down, but we are still learning. She is starting to nap a little bit better, but still not really longer than an hour at a time, but she's napping usually 3 times. I'm getting up early to try and get some work done before she gets up and she's starting to spend more time in her jump-a-roo. I think she's still a tad young to be in it too long. She seems to wear out easily. I think the hardest thing is going to be fitting the gym in.
Sofia started rice cereal a little over a week ago! Horray! I forgot to take pictures the first time we gave it to her on a spoon, but we got some the second time. She didn't do so well the first, so we gave it to her in her bottle for her last feeding the past week. Tonight we tried it again on a spoon and she did a lot better.
And I went to Weight Watchers and lost 0.2!! I was really expecting a gain last week. Marc and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last Tuesday and went to Cheesecake Factory (thanks Aunt Barbie and Uncle Tom!). While I didn't order a salad, I also didn't stuff myself...and Marc and I split a piece of cheesecake instead of each having our own. Then we ordered pizza one night last week as well. And I think we might have even had Chick-Fil-A. I stopped counting points by Wednesday. So, needless to say, I was happy with a loss and I've been so good about being on plan this week. I keep telling myself, just think how much you would have lost last week if you had been doing everything right and that's my motivation to be better this week. Let's hope for a bigger loss!
Oh and I have a recipe for all you weight watchers out there. I just call it Fluff.
2 packages of fat free sugar free jello, same flavor
2 containers of Dannon Light and Fit yogurt, same flavor as the jello
1 container of Free cool whip
Add about 1 cup of really hot or boiling water to the jello to help it dissolve.
Add the yogurt and cool whip to the jello and mix real good.
Place in fridge to congeal.
There are 12 points in the whole thing, so points depend on how big your servings are. I divided mine into 8, so it was 1.5 points a serving. Yummy!

My child loves watching tv....go figure
My parents are going to be here tomorrow and there is still laundry that needs to be put away and tiding that needs to be done. I'll try and be better about updating.

Who loves popcorn?
OK so this post is to enter a contest...that you all may want to enter once you read it! :-)
I found this at Roni's site. Apparently Orville Redenbacher wants to spread the word about their new Natural Line of Popcorn. It has zero artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, and comes in 3 flavors: Simply Salted, Buttery Garlic and Buttery Salt & Cracked Pepper.
To help them spread the word they are offering a new box (6 bags) of popcorn to the winner each month for a year (flavor of your choice) AND Orville will fit the bill for a 1-year 2-movies-at-a-time Netflix subscription!
You have to have a blog to enter...so if you're interested, check out the post on Roni's blog for details :-) Good luck!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year
Wow, it's been a long time. This one has lots of pictures. =)
We had a great Christmas. My parents were in town for a couple of days. Michelle and her family came over to join us for Christmas dinner. Santa was good to everyone.
Our fat tree
Sofia in her new toy...this is supposed to entertain her while I work
Sofia and Daddy taking a nap after a tiring Chritsmas
I rode back to SC with my parents when they left here. Marc drove down Friday night after work. And then we all came home on New Year's day. We were super busy in SC. We took Inge and Wayne and their family to visit my mom's horse. We went to the Clemson/Samford basketball game with Beth, Jeff, and Laney and then out to dinner (Bert and Robo joined us). Linda and Bill came over for breakfast and Stan and JoLynn came for dinner. Then we meet Beth, Jeff, and Laney to watch the Clemson/Auburn game. And of course we did lots of shopping.

Now we are back in VA and it sure is nice to have your own stuff and sleep in your own bed. I went back to WW's today. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be....it was bad, don't get me wrong, I gained, but I only gained 1 pound. So I'm really happy with that. Sofie and I went to WW's and the grocery today. Tomorrow we are going to go to the bank and to order new business cards. Then we are going to settle in and enjoy our last few days before I start working.
Hope everyone had a great holiday season!
